Sam Burden is a UK-based producer, mixer and composer with over two decades of experience across music, film and audio post-production. He is the founder of Empire Recording Studios in Guildford, Surrey, a creative space dedicated to helping artists, filmmakers and brands bring their projects to life through music production, recording, mixing and audio post.
 

Sam grew up in a musical family and was playing in bands from an early age, giving him an artist’s perspective on recording and production. At 18, he began his professional career under the mentorship of the late, great Keith Grant, one of the UK’s legendary recording engineers whose credits included Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, David Bowie and Queen. That early grounding gave Sam a strong technical foundation and an enduring respect for the craft of sound.
 

Since then, he has contributed to projects ranging from Oscar winning films, Grammy and Brit Award winning records, and Emmy winning series to independent releases and emerging talent. His work spans commercial recordings, original compositions, film sound, branded content and audio post-production.

The studio has become known for its professional yet welcoming environment, where artists and filmmakers can focus on creating work that feels alive, polished and honest.
